What is this?

This (under construction) part of my site is dedicated to the world of my WIP fiction project set in an alternate universe future, from the 2140s to the 2170s. Here you'll find some information about that world and its many characters! It's a strange era, brought into being by the ramifications of a so-called major cosmic event that changed everything last century, when two vastly diverged timelines collapsed into each other and became one!

What happens?

This project contains several interwoven plots following different characters through the years. Here are summaries of a few of them:

  • Out of the independent film scene in 2140s Chicago rises a charismatic celebrity known only as &. Years later, &'s internationally famous time-travelling talk show, & Then What?, becomes the subject of a massive controversy with far-reaching consequences when it is revealed that & possesses the power of omniscience.
  • The rise of that same film scene, the Terrafilm Underground, and its major genres, is spearheaded by auteurs like Joey Lakomy and Tetra Halt. Plus, how it gets turned on its head in the 2150s when a director called Sloane arrives on the scene. Sloane's work is a biting critique of society's strange, overwhelming nostalgia for the distant past—or maybe it's just edgelord nonsense?
  • Celebrity video essayists Ramona and Roy are known for their intelligent commentary on pop culture, history and philosophy, as well as their advocacy against popular conspiracy theories. But over time, Roy begins to fall further and further into conspiracies of his own, with disastrous consequences for his personal life, his fanbase, and the political sphere.
  • Meanwhile, the world has still not fully reckoned with the metaphysical disaster of 2059. Its relation to time travel has led the international regulatory time travel group, COATTA, to yield unprecendented levels of power. This group's internal scandals and schemes quickly turn into external turmoil.
